Puentes para el Desarrollo
In Nicaragua, Fundación Puentes para el Desarrollo, an organization devoted to democratic development and coexistence in Central America, runs a program called "Heridas de la Violencia y los Desafíos de la Paz" (Wounds of Violence and the Challenges of Peace), helping communities fractured by political violence rebuild trust across old divides. It offers tools for nonviolent participation and a space where citizens who lived through repression can heal and engage again. Quiet, patient work. Democracy depends on it.
