Fundación Pintando Esperanza

Fundación Pintando Esperanza, a volunteer organization from Santa Cruz, with support from Jucumari Foundation, helped bring professional muralists into pediatric wards in Bolivian hospitals, turning bare walls into gardens, jungles, and night skies. The most recent project transformed the neurology ward of the children's hospital in Santa Cruz, together with the pediatrics and vaccination rooms of a municipal hospital in San Xavier. Children who spend weeks receiving treatment wake up surrounded by color instead of white paint. Nurses say the wards feel different. Parents say the nights feel easier. Healing is not only medicine.
